Object Information Services

This is a contract-to-hire role. Located in the Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX area.

The Information Architect will be responsible for negotiating and understanding broad strategic directions and leveraging that understanding with an in-depth knowledge of UX best practices along with having hands-on experience with other UX disciplines, such as visual / interaction design and user research. You will define scope and develop strategies for delivering business requirements across channels and platforms to transform complex applications into simple, intuitive experiences.

The ideal candidate will be driven by the desire to be a user advocate, be passionate about creating products that are intuitive and enjoy the ability to use their strengths in multiple disciplines.

• Collaborate with product owners and SMEs to gather and translate rules and assets into UX systems, programs and enterprise solutions
• Work with a cross-functional team using agile methodology to define user stories and UX deliverables for projects
• Prepare, manage, update and distribute UX documentation (navigational flows, wire frames, mock-ups, use cases, task flows prototypes, content, system errors, etc.)
• Advocate for the user and collaborate with business owners to develop features and flows that align with the user’s needs
• Use tools like data modeling, mental models, user personas and cognitive processes to provide the organization with a future-state view of the information landscape
• Work with UX counterparts to create functional prototypes for user testing and iterative mockups for development handoff
• Collect and action UX feedback from customers, end users, test results and UX researchers
• Work with DCX department to improve information flow and manage cost
• Keep up to date in the field by monitoring consumer trends, best practices, attending workshops, joining professional groups and reading relevant research
• Promote importance of user-centered activities and influence stakeholders to ensure execution
• Present work in a clear and compelling manner to stakeholders (be able to explain design recommendations by citing best practices, testing data or business requirements)
• Perform all job functions in a timely manner and in collaboration with other UX and IT team members

A qualified candidate should posses
• Degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science or other related discipline
• 3+ years of experience in project management for high-traffic eCommerce websites, implementing user-centered design or information architecture, project planning and user analytics
• Advanced analytical skills dealing with complex data problems and implementing sustainable solutions
• Strong knowledge and understanding of operating systems and platform dependencies
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to label, classify and intelligently build flows and wireframes for complex computer applications
• Complex understanding of application design and architecture
• Experience in modern design and prototyping tools (Axure, Sketch, Zeplin, Flinto, Adobe CC)
• Experience with lean / agile development approaches
• Experience with design thinking methodology and tactics are a plus
• Understanding and experience with HTML and CSS
• Familiarity with enterprise CMS
• Ability to build effective working relationships with different teams and all levels of management
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and communicate effectively with non-technical users
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work on multi-channel projects at different points in development, across multiple groups, in different time zones and consider local relevancy and translation implications
• Strong project management skills to set milestones and deliver on time
• The desire to learn complex industry knowledge is a plus
