Benjamin Moore is looking to hire a Sr. Manager of UX and Digital Design to lead the visual direction our digital transformation. We are seeking the combination of an experienced design leader who loves to roll up their sleeves and be hands-on. You’ll report directly to the Vice President of Digital Marketing and build out a team of UX and digital designers across web, mobile, social and digital advertising. This position has an emphasis on UX design and will be responsible for the execution of product design for BenjaminMoore.com, our e-commerce platforms and mobile apps.
The ideal candidate has experience leading design and user experience strategy for major consumer-facing digital experiences. Additionally, this person is a mentor, people manager, and advocate of design culture.
As a growing in-house practice, you will be charged with building a design team that will deliver transformative and thoughtful wireframes, visual comps and digital advertising through a combination of your own work, direct reports, freelancers and agency support.
Benjamin Moore is a 130+ year leader in color and design. This is an ideal role for someone who loves all forms of design and is excited to create digital experiences that will be used by designers, architects, do-it-yourself homeowners, and professional painters. You’ll be surrounded by the science and art of color and design, with creative and color technology teams in-house.
The Work You’ll Do
Direct the design of Benjamin Moore’s digital user experience and product design of projects across web, social and mobile platforms.
Lead the design for BenjaminMoore.com with hands-on work in UX and digital advertising design.
Create detailed wireframes as well as visual design comps.
Work with Creative Director to integrate the brand’s creative vision into the digital and social arena.
Lead digital design patterns and standards work for Benjamin Moore.
Effectively communicate conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale both verbally and visually.
Collaborate with the product engineering team to deliver designs based on user stories, UX research and analytics.
Work within the digital marketing team to deliver digital assets and products that enhance customer and user joy, ease of use and deliver conversions through the paint and home improvement journey.
Brainstorm and work with other creative partners to develop briefs for new and evolving projects.
Execute all design concepts and deliverables according to established timelines with minimal supervision.
8+ years of experience designing and delivering digital products in cross-functional teams.
3+ years of design leadership experience.
Experience recruiting, hiring, and managing a high performance team.
Great design sensibility with a portfolio of consumer brand and/or e-commerce work.
Proven record of partnering with brand and marketing teams to create high-converting experiences that bring the brand to life.
Experience running product design teams that collaborate effectively with engineering managers, product and marketing teams.
Experience using analytics, testing and user research to help make design decisions.
Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong knowledge of User Experience design processes, trends and methodology.
Advanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InVision.
