Position Description
The Senior UX Lead Specialist is responsible for managing projects from initial client objectives, to identifying an approach, to project execution, analysis, delivery and presentation to the client. This position is responsible for a mix of research and design consulting projects and leads client interactions and engagements. The Senior UX Lead Specialist also trains Analysts, Specialists, and Lead Specialists to deliver to client objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior UX Lead Specialist manages and owns core project activities. Senior Lead Specialists leads all aspects of projects, such as preparation and data collection for research and wire-framing for design to analysis and report/deliverable creation.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Prepare research materials such as test plans, research protocols, recruitment screeners, data sheets, and moderator’s guides independently, and input into best practices.
• Produce final client deliverables with limited oversight, including research reports, executive summaries, and design recommendations. Mentor and coach Specialists to develop these skills. Develop ability to efficiently and effectively review deliverables and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
• Recommend redesign of application if needed. Creates wireframes of key recommendations that consider business and technical requirements. Leads finding workshops. Creates recommendation lists
• Lead entire project including client relationship and managing work to bid
• Manage multiple and/or larger complex projects in a lead role with minimal oversight. Mentor and coach Specialists in the development of project management skills, including internal and external processes tied to service delivery, such as timekeeping, expenses, and vendor management.
• Serve as an efficient and effective individual contributor at the project level. Work collaboratively with peers. Proficient in managing project teams for projects of increasing size and complexity with minimal oversight. Coach and mentor specialists on the development of these skills.
• Display a positive and constructive attitude when contributing as a project member or a project lead. Coach and mentor specialists on the development of these skills.
• Contribute to GfK’s position as thought leaders by writing blogs, white papers, and presenting at conferences.

As a Senior UX Lead Specialist you will have the opportunity to:
• Demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in independent note taking and moderation. Mentor and coach Specialists to develop these skills.
• Demonstrate proficiency in assuring quality of service delivery at a project level with limited oversight. Provide feedback to team members when serving in project lead role with limited oversight from senior team members. Mentor and coach Specialists to develop understanding of key tenets of high quality service delivery.
• Demonstrate proficiency in understanding relationship between business development outputs and project management inputs with limited oversight. Optionally, refine business development skills with guidance from Directors and VPs with concentration on development of independent proficiency in these activities.
• Demonstrate strong client management skills as evidenced by the development of several client relationships where the client comes to you first. Demonstrate strong presentation skills, ability to communicate and defend insights and recommendations in a constructive manner, and ability to go off-script to address client questions.

Requirements
Experience and Skills:
• Senior UX Lead Specialist skills for Design include:
o Proficient skills with graphic design tools (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop)
o Proficient skills with IA tools (e.g., Visio)
o Basic or proficient skills with prototyping skills (e.g., Axure)
o Possesses strong communication skills within teams and to clients
o Project management skills for logistics, planning, and team activity execution
o Strong communication skills to explain design justification and flexibility to adapt to client needs

• Senior UX Lead Specialist skills for Research include:

o Solid client management skills and proven ability to manage projects from conception to completion
o Proficient skills in moderator’s guide development
o Proficient skills in analysis and recommendations for reporting
o Demonstrated ability manage a variety of projects types and using different UX techniques
o Project management skills for logistics and planning and team activity execution
o Develops strong communication skills within teams and to clients

• 2-4 years’ experience in related field (i.e., user experience research or design), required. 3-7 years’ experience in related field, preferred.

Education
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in human factors, HCI, behavioral sciences or equivalent experience, including Bachelor’s in Fine Arts (BFA), required.
